Guess Which Classic Cereal Just Got That Much Better?!

Bella Breakdown

Alright Bellas, you’re in for a real treat because one of your favorite breakfast meals just got a whole lot sweeter! No not literally, but the coolest thing about them is that they officially have gone gluten-free. It’s a healthy trend that’s sweeping the nation and Cheerios couldn’t help but to hop on board (and we are soooo glad they did!)

Cheerios have always been made of oats, which are naturally gluten-free, but many farmers who grow oats rotate their crops, which mean they also grow grains that have gluten such as wheat, barley, and rye.

Unfortunately, these grains get mixed in with the oats during harvesting and transport. So, in order to make Cheerios gluten-free, they have to separate them from the oats, and well, they did just that!

All the oats are now sifted which allows the grains of barley, wheat, and rye, which are different sizes and shapes than oats to be sifted out. Every batch of oats is now tested to make sure it has less than 20 parts per million of other grains which means on average for every 15,000 grains of oats, there can be no more than 1 grain of wheat, barley, or even rye.

So, with the same recipe and same great taste as before Cheerios is proud to say they are gluten-free so your whole family can enjoy them without having to worry.

Are you ready to hop on board?
