Say Goodbye To Expectations With These Simple Tips!

Bella Breakdown

Alright Bella’s most of us have come to realize that we live in a world today where lifestyle blogs, magazines and cookbooks are constantly raising the bar. We have this constant pressure to look and act perfect. With social media on the rise we get to see a lot more of what our friends and family are doing on a regular basis. Now don’t get me wrong socializing is great, but it brings with it constant comparison and expectations. These can be very inspiring and push you to improve or the reality is it could very well stress you out.

This is especially true in the kitchen. Have you ever checkout out your friends page to see that they’re a mom of 5, have time to hang out with the kids, and cook picture perfect meals?

Well the reality of it is pictures can be deceiving, so don’t always believe what you see. We’re all human so relax. No one is perfect, everyone “cheats” in the kitchen, and everyone does what they have to do to make life well work! And that’s OK.

expectatiosn2Feel like you have no time? If your expectation is to spend time with your friends and family while making picture perfect meals, try making it a social event. Quality time comes in many forms. So, why not have fun and be productive at the same time? Prepare meals in advance and let everyone help out.

It doesn’t matter if you do meals for the whole week or just the breakfasts. You can also squeeze in quality time in odd places, like when grandma teaches you her favourite recipe over Skype, or when you show everyone in the family how chores can be super fun. Kids are great helpers, so make your kitchen kid-friendly and invite them in!
