The Best Performances During Oscar Night

In Case You Missed It…

We all think about the best movies or actors when we think of the Oscars, and often we forget about the musical performances during the show. This year, the performances rocked and the singers and musicians alike dominated the stage. Some of the best took the stage on Sunday night, and here’s a look at a few of the five performances from Oscar night.

There were five nominees for Best Original Song, and they were: Sufjan Stevens, “Mystery of Love” (Call Me By Your Name); Mary J. Blige, “Mighty River” (Mudbound); Miguel Featuring ft. Natalia Lafourcade, “Remember Me (Dúo)” (Coco); Andra Day Featuring Common, “Stand Up For Something” (Marshall); “This Is Me” (The Greatest Showman).

Of the five performances, it seemed the last was the best. Though “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman did not take home the ultimate prize of an Oscar, Keala Settle wow-ed the audience with her theatrical and emotional performance of the piece. Ultimately, “Remember Me” from the Disney film Coco took home the award for Best Original Song, and it definitely deserved the splendor!
