10 Of The World’s Most Expensive Cities To Live In

Bella Breakdown

It’s not cheap living in some of the world’s biggest cities. While visiting places like Paris, Tokyo and New York is great for a short time it can cause a strain on your bank account to actually live there.

Economist Intelligence Unit has released its annual living report detailing which cities are the most expensive cities. It’s not surprising that Singapore has topped the list for the fifth year in a row after passing Tokyo back in 2014. The Asian destination isn’t the only city in the number one spot, but Paris and Hong Kong are also vying for most expensive in a three-way tie.

Asian and European countries still dominate the list, but Los Angeles and New York City are representing the U.S. in the number seven and ten spots. Big change seeing as how the two didn’t even make the list.

Switzerland appeals so much to people that two of the country’s cities made the list. Geneva tied for the fifth spot along with Osaka, Japan while Zurich was bumped down from number two to number four.

Not on the top 10 list was Tokyo who previously held the number one spot nearly every year since 1992.
