Beauty has become quite the commercial entity, with new products, powders and gadget popping up every minute that we just have to try. While some may work wonders, try to focus on investing in high quality tools instead of lots of cheap ones.

Here’s 5 essential tools invest in that are the building blocks for creating looks.

  1. Hairdryer – A great hairdryer is essential. It will get your hair dry really fast and save you time, add more shine, is an important tool for creating any sleek look. When you buy a hair dryer you want to look for: professional, ceramic and ionic.
  1. Round Brush – A great brush is key. Different brushes work best for different hair types, but natural boar bristle brushes work really well to get your hair super shiny and stand up well to the heat of your new high quality blow dryer.
  1. Flat Iron – There’s nothing like a flat iron. Any 1 1/2” ceramic iron really does the job. You can even curl your hair with it. A must have for getting that sleek, smooth look with really straight, evenly textured hair.
  1. Paddle Brush – Great for detangling. With wooden bristles you can use it in your shower or afterwards to work out those tangle. Other paddle brushes, with boar bristles and plastic help to distribute the oils throughout the hair to make your hair look healthy.
  1. Curling Iron – An absolute must. This is a go-to tool, especially if you’re having a bad hair day, just sectioning your hair off and wrapping it around the iron for a few times is like magic. A 1” barrel size is pretty universal, but make sure you’re able to wrap your hair around the barrel twice.

If you take care of these tools they will last you a long time and give you many happy hair days ; )
