All You Need To Know About Wine

Bella Breakdown

We have all met those people who go out to dinner and order a glass of wine. They spin it, sniff it, take the world’s tiniest sip and then try to tell you about all of the obscure tastes and aromas they’re experiencing. I’m sorry, but 99% of those tastes and aromas are probably made up. And frankly, it seems sacrilegious to just spit it back out again. If I got wine tasting, please believe I’m leaving with a belly full of wine. So, for the most basic of wine drinkers, what are the most important things to know about wine?

1. It has alcohol
I think that explains it all. Wine has an average ABV (alcohol by volume) of 11.6%. That means a 9 ounce glass is typically higher than 12 ounces of beer. Clearly wine drinkers know how to get the job done.

2. It’s made from grapes
Grapes and yeast are the two main ingredients of wine. Different types of grapes and strands of yeast create different kinds of wine. Boom. Now you’re an expert.

3. It’s good even when it’s cheap
Seriously, people drink “2 buck chuck” for a reason. It’s still just as good as the higher shelf wines. A lot of people are put to shame during taste tests when they aren’t able to differentiate an expensive wine from an inexpensive one.

4. Just drink it

Enjoy it. But seriously, stop spitting it out!
