American’s Fast Food Obsession

Bella Breakdown

I’m not the biggest fast food eater in the world, but you can guarantee if I’m on a road trip I’ll pretty much only be hitting up fast food joints. There is no pre-packed eating in my car, unless you’re counting the bag of candy I picked up at the last gas station. We as Americans are a little obsessed with fast food.

Now, fast food doesn’t have to necessarily be the usuals like McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Burger King, etc. We are now privy to quick, “healthy” choices such as, Chipotle, Panera, and local joints that get you in and out with a packaged salad within 10 minutes. So, what exactly makes us so obsessed with our go-to fast food joints?

Well it’s likely because we have become accustomed to a quick and convenient world. We have information and interaction literally in the palm of our hands. We also have the power to get our fast food without ever leaving the house.

Apps like DoorDash and UberEats can have your favorite order to you probably just as quickly it would take you to get out of the house and run through the drive through. Will our fast food obsession ever end, or will we just get faster?
