Anne Hathaway Is Saving Her Next Drink For When Her Son Is Grown

Actress Anne Hathaway is taking her motherly duties seriously, so serious she has decided that she will be refraining from drinking until her son is 21. The 35-year-old recently sat down with Modern Luxury where she revealed that hangovers became too much of an issue for the actress while caring for her 3-year-old son.

“My last hangover lasted for five days,” she said. “When I’m at a stage in my life where there is enough space for me to have a hangover, I’ll start drinking again, but that won’t be until my kid is out of the house.” Hathaway, who will soon be seen in the upcoming film ‘The Hustle,’ says that her decision to not drink isn’t a choice all parents have to make.

“I just want to make this clear: Most people don’t have to do such an extreme thing. I don’t think drinking is bad,” she made clear. “It’s just the way I do it — which I personally think is really fun and awesome — is just not the kind of fun and awesome that goes with having a child for me. But this isn’t a moralistic stance.”

Ultimately, the Oscar-winning actress’ choice is just one the many she has made in order to live a better and pain-free life. One that she is willing to share with the public, but not one she expects people to follow. “I’ve recently been on a streak where things are just starting to work, so I can share that with people, and they can take from it what resonates and ignore what doesn’t,” she said.
