Burger King Introduces The New “Unhappy Meal”

Bella Breakdown

Burger King is already becoming one of the first fast-food chains to release vegan options and now the food chain is catering to those with mental illness. The burger restaurant announced a new line of unhappy meals, a nod to rival McDonald’s kid’s meal, to address the growing concerns about mental health.

Customers will be able to purchase “Real Meals” from Burger King with a choice of five different boxes. The “Pissed Meal,” “Blue Meal,” “Salty Meal,” “YAAAS Meal” and DGAF Meal. Sadly, for those around the U.S. who are hoping to get their hands on one of the unhappy meals the line is only available at select Burger King locations in Seattle, Miami, Los Angeles, New York City and Austin, Texas.

Burger King partnered with the non-profit organization Mental Health America to increase visibility about issues surrounding mental well-being during May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month.

“A natural extension of encouraging people to ‘be their way’ is encouraging them to ‘feel their way,'” the fast food chain said in a statement along with a new advertisement highlighting mental health issues. “With Real Meals, the Burger King brand celebrates being yourself and feeling however you want to feel.”
