Believe it or not about 37% of American households have cats and we all know about cats and the internet. There are about 2 million cat videos on YouTube and have been collectively viewed 25 billion times according to a marketing site and yet cats still are known to be mysterious! Why is that and wouldn’t you like to get to know your cat a little better?

To understand your cat you have to take a look back at evolutionary history. You have to know where your cat came from. Cats have evolved from big cats who are more solitary than the dogs who have evolved from wolfs and who are more sociable.

They have only been human companions for a short while. Just about 4,000 years ago they were known to be like raccoons just hanging around places where people lived because it was good places for people to hunt. It was only around 5-6,000 years ago when people started keeping cats.

We now have an expectation. Most people who have indoor cats literally keep them indoors and don’t let them outdoors to hunt. They are complete companion pets now and they are beginning to drop their ancestry’s traits. We want them to relate to us all the time and not just sometimes.

Its important to let your cats hunt. We don’t want to strip them of their ways and if your cat is an indoor cat and you want to keep them that way you can play games with him to help him hunt in the house with a fake mouse toy ect.
