Bella Breakdown

Keanu Reeves is one of the nicest people in show business. He will give you his seat on a subway. He talks to homeless people. He is dating an age-appropriate woman. It’s pretty much impossible to find any negative comments on his behavior, on or offset. Reeves is the real deal, and here are some life lessons we can learn from the 55-year-old superstar.

Hands Off

This is such a small gesture, but if you look at the photos of Reeves with female celebrities or fans, his hands are never touching them. In the #MeToo era, that’s more than refreshing: that’s leading by example. Give people space, and don’t be too touchy over people you just met.

Don’t Let The Grief Define You

Keanu Reeves suffered several significant losses. There’s no right way to grieve, but there’s a way to turn it into something bigger than you. Reeves runs a private charitable foundation that looks to help cancer research and kids’ hospital wards. He’s honoring his late sister and unborn child with constant philanthropic acts. Kindness feeds our souls.

Be Passionate

Passions drive us, and for the John Wick star, it’s his motorcycle, music, reading, writing, but mostly acting. Before you say: “He has the time, I don’t,” remember that any hobby, doing what you love, will give you more energy and keep you going.

Laugh With and At Yourself

We tend to think that as grownups, we have to act a certain way all the time. That’s exhausting and inaccurate. While you are working, you have to keep some level of professionalism. But once you are out of the office, you can be childish and dorky, crack jokes and enjoy life. Reeves isn’t afraid to make goofy faces just as he did in his 20s. When the Matrix actor is filming, he’s one of the best in the business. But when he’s doing an interview, hanging out with the crew, he’s not afraid to be himself.

Don’t Kiss and Tell

In the age of social media, we tend to forget what privacy looks like. You can be active on Facebook or Instagram, without revealing too much about your private life. Oversharing is a burden, so find that fine line between real life and your online persona. Keanu Reeves is 55, and everyone knows he’s dating. He’s been dating for decades, yet finding photos of PDA is impossible. Being mysterious and keeping things to yourself is refreshing, wouldn’t you agree?
