While the average person is using their Instagram accounts to share the simple things happening in their lives with their followers the Kardashians are using it to make money. Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner recently sat down with ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ and shared just how much her daughters make via social media and spoiler alert: it’s a lot.
While Kylie Jenner’s title of “self-made billionaire” is debatable her fee for advertising products on her Instagram is not. Kris didn’t say any specific numbers regarding the ad fees, but did hint at the fact that the price for a post from her girls is “definitely six figures.”
Kris did reveal that the price varies depending on who has been hired to post and what products the girls will be using their account to advertise for. Companies bringing in the big bucks for the family are pharmaceutical companies, like Flat Tummy Co. A promotion that has received tons of backlash from many people including NBC’s ‘The Good Place’ star Jameela Jamil. The body-positive actress called the sisters “terrible and toxic influence on young girls” for their decision to promote the unhealthy beverage.
However, negative criticism isn’t going to stop Kim Kardashian. According to the soon-to-be mom of four, the money-making opportunity is just too easy to turn down. “If there is work that is really easy that doesn’t take away from our kids, that’s like a huge priority, if someone was faced with the same job opportunities, I think they would maybe consider,” she said in a New York Times interview last month. Kris also isn’t losing any sleep over promoting products that could potentially be harmful to their young fans and feels the backlash just comes with fame.
