Yoga instructor Jessamyn Stanley tells us the history of her body and how her feelings about it have changed over time.

Jessamyn, a yoga teacher and body positivity advocate, talks about how she wishes she had had a role model like herself when she was 12 years old and very insecure about her body.

Her goal is to have a positive impact on others the way she wishes she had had herself.

"There’s a major disconnect in our society between what people can do and what we show people that they can do." - Jessamyn Stanley

Now, the parts of her body she used to hate, such as her stomach, are the parts that she has learned to love. She started to realize how strong her body actually is.

She has found that people with curvy bodies are not shown in pictures and so she wants to continue to promote different body types in pictures.

She enjoys seeing the people who come in to her class judging and doubting her have a great experience practicing yoga.

She is proud of being in control of her own vision and destiny.
