How to Create Mermaid Curls

Wondering how to recreate those curls you’ve been seeing all over the catwalks?

It couldn’t be easier. Start out with a center part using your nose as a guideline and working your way back. Prep the bottom half of your hair with a bit of spray mouse for extra hold when it’s curled.

Put a clip in where you want your curls to start then curl the hair around the barrel working away from the face. Just hold in place for about 5 seconds for less of a ringlet and more of a soft wave.

Continue curling the rest of the hair remembering to start off at your marking point. While the curls are cooling prep the top half of the hair.

Just run some mouse around the crown of the head down to where the marker was to give it that slicked back look and comb the mouse in for a wet look and to keep any of your shorter layers back. Spray on a bit of spray oil for a long-term wet effect.

For the bottom of the hair, brush the curls out and you should be left with nice soft waves. Once you’re happy with the curls that you have and the texture, hold them in place with a little bit of hair spray and to finish off the look give everything a spritz of oil for that mermaid at the lagoon look that will carry you through the rest of spring!
