Justin Bieber hasn’t advocated for much during his 10-year career, but it looks like the singer is finally using his platform for good. On Thursday, the “What Do You Mean?” singer took to Instagram to call out Fox News reporter Laura Ingraham after a video of her laughing while discussing the death of rapper Nipsey Hussle was released.
“Laura Ingraham absolutely disgusting what you did on national television. How dare you laugh in the face of a person who has passed on,” Bieber captioned an edited photo of Laura and Nipsey. “Did you not think about the family who just lost a love one and now have to see you mock him on national television.”
Ingraham received backlash during her show ‘The Ingraham Angle’ which showed the Fox News anchor laughing and mocking the rapper for the song “F**k Donald Trump,” which was incorrectly credited to Nipsey. Though he is featured the song is actually performed by rapper YG. The disrespect didn’t go unnoticed by fans of the slained rapper or Bieber who is now calling for the termination of Ingraham.
It’s a nice change to see the Canadian singer using his platform to defend Nipsey’s legacy. Seeing as how he recently faced criticism of his own for using a photo posted by rapper Diddy mourning his ex-girlfriend as a promotional ad for his clothing line. According to Bieber, he wasn’t aware that the throwback photo was a dedication to Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Kim Porter though the particular photo wasn’t the first of many grieving posts by the rapper.
Bieber wasn’t the only artist calling for Ingraham to be fired but rappers T.I., The Game and Snoop Dogg have all banded together for the reporter’s termination.
