Leslie Jones Criticizes Alabama Anti-Abortion Law On ‘SNL’

Comedienne Leslie Jones had a lot to say about the recent abortion bans happening across the U.S. During the season finale of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ Jones used her comedic chops to address the ban during the “Weekend Update” segment.

Joining co-anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che wearing an outfit commonly seen in Hulu’s ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ Jones joked that her new name will be “Ofjost.” She then disrobed to show herself wearing a black t-shirt that read “mine” with an arrow pointing down.

“You can’t control women. Because, I don’t know if y’all heard, but women are the same as humans. And I’m Leslie ‘Dracarys’ Jones!” she said referencing the strict abortion ban that passed in Alabama. The newly-passed legislation now makes abortions at any stage of pregnancy a felony.

“I mean, why do all of these weird-ass men care what women do with their bodies?” To truly bring her point home, Jones showed the audience a photo of all 25 of the white male senators who voted for the legislation and said, “This looks like the mugshots of everyone arrested at a massage parlor,” Jones said.

“The fact that nine states are doing this means this really is a war on women,” the actress proclaimed.
