We have all been guilty of lying in some way or another. We tell white lies as to why we were late, or why we didn’t answer that text. But when it comes to people lying to us, we can’t help but be really offended. Relationships are so strongly built off of trust, and when you feel as though someone isn’t being honest with you, especially about something significant, the trust can be severely damaged.

There are people who are very good liars. So much so, that they often believe their own lies. I guess you have to sell it right? And then there are really bad liars. People who have such clear giveaways that it is almost laughable when they try to lie. And then there are the in-betweeners. Sure, sometimes they can get away with a fib or two, but other times they can’t. So, how can you tell if someone is lying?

There are a couple giveaways. It always helps to know someone, because that way you can determine if their behaviors are abnormal. You can also tell because they might start breathing heavily, or shift their heads and fidget a lot. Some people give away too much information to attempt to corroborate a story. People who are lying might get extremely defensive, with aggressive body language as well.
