Meryl Streep And Cher Have Beef?

Mamma Mia, here we go again.

The star-studded sequel to the original Mamma Mia movie is garnering lots of hype as it launches towards its premiere this weekend. It’s also launched a little cat fight between Cher and Meryl Streep, two of the stars who showed up the red-carpet event acting all buddy-buddy.

But was there some underlying tension?

The two friends may have some playful banter, but there is nothing serious going on. Streep claims that Cher “stole the limelight” of the movie with her vocal power. The two are both strong female powerhouses, so its surprising they could survive in a movie together.

Fans were surprised to see Streep at the premiere, as she had not appeared in any of the trailers and was presumed to be dead (her character, not the actress). But the talk of the town was still on Cher, who claims her musical numbers were more complicated than anticipated, a challenge she was very thankful for.

Additionally, actress/singer Lily James got a lot of critical praise for “stealing the show” according to early movie reviews. There’s only a few more days before us fans can see who really outshines the other in this sequel, premiering July 20th, 2018.
