If you’re someone who has tried every trick in the book for perfect skin, but nothing has worked then what you need may be in your refrigerator. Celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, and even Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall have all turned to this dairy product for their facial needs.

Celebrity facialist Deborah Mitchell is giving away a few of her skincare secrets and she claims that one of the best things for your skin is cold yogurt. “If you aren’t able to buy quality skin cream, apply some yogurt to the skin, and leave it there overnight,” Mitchell, founder of anti-aging beauty line Heaven Skincare said.

The facialist to the stars added that if you use organic live yogurt, which works as both an exfoliating treatment and a moisturizer, it can also help combat eczema. If you’re worried that this refrigerated yogurt trick is just some celebrity hack, Mount Sinai Hospital dermatologist Joshua Zeichner agrees that yogurt has many skin care benefits like calming inflammation, improving hydration and acne

“Yogurt is rich in probiotics that promote healthy skin cell functioning,” said Zeichner. “Proteins in yogurt also coat the surface of the skin to protect and prevent loss of hydration.”
