Sophie Turner Calls ‘Game of Thrones’ Petition “Disrespectful”

Sophie Turner will no longer be playing her claim-to-fame role on ‘Game of Thrones,’ but that isn’t stopping her from expressing her opinion like a true queen. In an interview with The New York Times, Turner recently opened up about the “disrespectful” petition being signed by ‘GoT’ fans.

“All of these petitions and things like that — I think it’s disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years, and for 11 months shooting the last season,” said Turner. The petition came after many disappointing episodes of the fantasy series’ final season and has been met with pushback from celebs like ‘Riverdale’ star Lili Reinhart.

“Like 50-something night shoots. So many people worked so, so hard on it, and for people to just rubbish it because it’s not what they want to see is just disrespectful.”

The HBO series came to a close last Sunday night with fans watching the remaining Stark siblings making Bran Stark the new king. With her brother as the new ruler, Sansa then convinced her brother to make the North its own kingdom, and she became its queen. An ending that Turner was perfectly fine with.

“I loved it. It’s the only place that she really, truly feels safe,” the actress said about her character’s storyline. “It’s the place that she’s the most capable of ruling. She would be a fair and loving ruler, and it’s what she’s been striving for this whole series: to go back home, to protect her home. And finally, she has that.”
