‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 Will Make You Feel American

Bella Breakdown

Netflix just released the “Stranger Things” Season 3 trailer and I am hyped! There is no show that makes me yearn more for the good ol’ days in America than ‘Stranger Things’. I mean, come on! It has USA stamped all over it, with a classic 80’s theme, Halloween monsters that represent the darkness in all of us, awkward middle school moments, suburbia at it’s finest, and not so subtle red and blue coloring and symbolism.

The trailer indicated that Season 3 would continue to play with our nationalist, deeply nostalgic hearts. It begins with a short clip about Dustin coming home from summer camp, and viewers are immediately brought to their childhood summers, which meant long days and time outside with friends. I can just hear the ice cream trucks now.

Then, the trailer continues to build, with the anticipating notes of “Baba O’Riley” by The Who playing as our favorite kid characters build a strange apparatus in an open field and “Out here in the fields, I fight for my meals” perfectly corresponds with the aforementioned image.

After that, we see scene after scene of American summer. Viewers get hit hard with shorts and leggy tweens, long days spent in the mall, warm nights at a carnival, and cold ice cream.

I cannot wait for the new season to drop, and of course it is happening on July 4th. What could be more American than that?
