Buying cheap, poorly made clothing can be addicting. I’ve done it. You’ve done it. We’ve all done it. It can be so hard to resist a “deal” when you see one.

At what cost do we allow ourselves to always buy cheap clothing? I can’t tell you the number of times that I have bought something at an unnamed store *cough*forever21*cough* because it was cheap and I couldn’t help it, only to have it wear down on me almost instantaneously, or be insanely uncomfortable.

Tan France, the famous fashion adviser on “Queer Eye,” gives his advice on what clothing items people should always splurge on. Why? Because it is worth it to have some clothes that will act as your staples and never wear down or fade out of style.

Firstly, he states that it is important to have a piece of wool outerwear. Wool is so much warmer than synthetic material, and it will be more comfortable as well.

Second, Tan advises that everyone pay extra money for good footwear. He cautions to buy shoes that are comfortable and classic, so that they can last you a long time and go with any outfit, anywhere.
