Taylor Swift Is Now The World’s Highest Paid Celebrity

She may not have been able to purchase her catalog of music from her former label Big Red Machine, but Taylor Swift is now the highest-paid celebrity. Forbes revealed the news earlier this week with the pop singer topping the list after pulling in $185 million over the past year.

Her new income is a 131% increase since last year after earning only $80 million in 2018. This isn’t Swift’s first time on the list. This singer made an appearing in 2016 when she earned $170 million thanks to her record-breaking The 1989 World Tour.

The singer surpassed her own record with The Reputation Stadium Tour surpassed which became the highest-grossing in the U.S., raking in $266.1 million domestically, according to Billboard Boxscore.

To add to her bank account Netflix brought the Reputation Stadium Tour to living rooms on New Year’s Eve, after acquiring the exclusive rights to the tour for a live concert special in 2018. The streaming giant’s payout and endorsement deals with Apple, AT&T and Diet Coke added millions to Swift’s profits.

Swift isn’t the only woman topping the Forbes list this year. Reality star Kylie Jenner came in second place after earning $170 million this past year. Other celebrities included are Kanye West, Ed Sheeran and Rihanna who earned $62 million this past year.
