The Grinch Who Stole The Box Office

Bella Breakdown

The Grinch might be one of the most successful characters when it comes to remakes. The latest remake, “Dr. Seuss’s: The Grinch” debuted at number 1 at the Box Office on November 9th, and brought it $11 million more dollars than Ron Howard’s live action “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” starring Jim Carrey. Illumination’s latest animated Grinch brought in $66 Million on it’s first weekend, and truly stole the top spot.

Benedict Cumberbatch lends his best Whoville accent to quite possibly the cutest Grinch ever animated. Cumberbatch is joined by Rashida Jones, Kenan Thompson, Angela Lansbury, and if this movie wasn’t cool enough, the story is actually narrated by Pharrell Williams.

Rapper Tyler, The Creator lends his talents to the film’s soundtrack, with a contagiously mean new song, “I Am the Grinch”. The Whos of Whoville are back as well, and you can guarantee this film will be a smash hit among kids and parents alike.

With ridiculously cute characters like Max and Fred, the yak-looking reindeer, you can add this movie along with the Grinch’s that came before it, “Elf”, “The Santa Claus”, and “Home Alone” to your list of favorite Christmas movies. The 2018 Grinch was even kind enough to come out before Thanksgiving, just like all of the Christmas fanatics prefer.
