Ocean’s 8, coming to theaters rightfully on June 8th, is the embodiment of female power. The star studded cast includes Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, and Cate Blanchett.
So what’s it like to work on a film with such a powerful cast of women? Anne Hathaway says that she felt “safe” being amongst women that helped her perform her best work. Amidst all of the scandals in Hollywood, it’s great to see women standing together instead of fearing the workplace.
Mindy Kaling could immediately feel the difference being amongst all females rather rather than all male-driven casts. Kaling noted that she got to know the families and significant others of her female costars. Additionally, this role helped her challenge her acting abilities because it required her to learn a new language.
And probably what’s most endearing to here is that Hathaway shut down any rumors there were catfights amongst the stars. She called everyone “collaborative” which shows what can really be accomplished when women come together.
So grab your tickets and get ready for the heist-flick to dominate at the box office this weekend.
