The Real Cost of a Breakup

The worst part of a break up? Not being able to go halfsies on the Netflix bill anymore. In addition to the emotional toll of breaking up with your significant other, there is the major financial impact as well.

Firstly, if you live together, you have to hire movers to move your things out, plus fork out a whole bunch of cash for the expense of leasing a new place (think first and last month’s rent plus security deposit).

Additionally, shared expenses, such as groceries and other daily items are all on you now. If you used to cook at home together, but now are ordering delivery a lot, that adds up quickly as well.

If you were feeling romantic and happened to get a tattoo with your ex’s name on your body, it costs $1200 to remove!
