Things In Your Bathroom You Need to Throw Out

Bella Breakdown

Much like the items in your refrigerator, the items you keep in your bathroom also have expiration dates. We don’t think about replacing toiletries and makeup as often as we should, and we could be putting ourselves in harm’s way for bacteria. I cringe thinking about certain makeup products I’ve had for longer than I would like to admit. Here are some products you have in your bathroom that you should put an expiration date on.

1. Your Toothbrush
Replace your toothbrush every three months.

2. Your Hairbrush
Replace your hairbrush every year.

3. Loofah
Replace your loofah every six months.

4. Teeth-Whitening Strips
Replace every 13 months.

5. Makeup Sponges
Replace sponges every month.

6. Eyeliner
Replace your eyeliner every 3 months

7. Lip Gloss & Lipstick
Replace lip glosses and lipsticks every year.

8. Nail Polish
Replace nail polish every year

9. Eyeshadow
Replace eye shadows every year.

It’s really important that we switch out our bathroom and makeup products. Just like foods, some of these products are perishable and vulnerable to gathering harmful bacteria. So, when you go into your bathroom to start cleaning it out, go by this rule of thumb: If you can’t remember when you bought it, it’s safer to toss it.
