Ways To Keep Mosquitoes Away From Your Backyard Party

Bella Breakdown

The summer season hasn’t officially started, but that hasn’t stopped the mosquitoes from making their annual appearance. If this is the time of year that you and your family spend the most outside hosting barbecues you may want to follow these methods for keeping those blood-suckers out of your yard.

One thing mosquitoes or any kind of bug don’t like is the smell of lemon. So, to use that to your advantage buy plenty of citronella candles. The citrus peels used in the candles contain organic chemicals that have the ability to repel mosquitoes and other insects.

If you’re worried about having tons of citronella candles burning throughout the night, try placing citronella torches around your yard. Not only will they give your backyard a nice look, but the citronella fuel will deter any mosquitoes.

Though mosquito dunks don’t repel the insect, they can prevent them from invading your backyard. All you have to do is place the mosquito dunk in standing water like birdbaths and gutters (aka the insect’s favorite hangouts) to kill larvae for at least 30 days.

If you weren’t able to fully prepare for a mosquito infestation using bug wipes should do the trick. Just offer your guest bug wipes to ward off any airborne attackers. These are gentle on the skin and don’t include any stinky chemicals
