The modeling industry and Hollywood seem to be colliding more and more. High-end models are celebrities in their own right, and now we even see some actresses, musicians and other artists trying to get their hand in the modeling ring. So it’s no surprise that this year’s top-paid models have also been in the spotlight for far more than just their runway walk.

Kendall Jenner topped Forbes’ list of the highest paid models, at $22.5 million. At just 23-years-old, Kendall has made her name stand out among her other siblings. With contracts from Adidas, Estee Lauder and Calvin Klein, she is riding on a career high.

In second place is supermodel Karlie Kloss, who earned $13 million, and has had one amazing year. Apart from getting engaged (!!), she is becoming one of the most well-known advocates for coding, especially female coders. She has started her own camps and coding classes for young girls, and is a strong leader for females in business.

Other models like Chrissy Teigan and Rosie Huntington-Whitely have focused more on their side hustles, turning a successful online presence into a business. With cookbooks, beauty lines and more, these models are making waves on and off the runway.

“Your social media page is your magazine of your life, so how you represent yourself matters,” said Ivan Bart, president at IMG Models. “If you’re going to cross over, you have to have a vision for it.”
