Bella Breakdown

While it certainly doesn’t feel like it now in some parts of the country, summer is right around the corner. While the days might still be cold and dreary, searching for places to travel this summer might be just the pick me up you need when you are looking out the window. Planning a vacation with kids takes some thought because you want it to be relaxing and enjoyable for everyone. Therefore, finding a great kid – friendly place that also offers the perks of having all of the amenities adults want is definitely a priority when you are trying to find the perfect place for your family vacation. The following is a list of some destinations that are family friendly.

Disney World, Disneyland or another Disney-themed resort, such as Aulani Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii. Disney specializes in kids. They have so many fun things to do. From having a room that looks out onto a view of safari animals or watching a movie at night while floating in the pool, Disney offers so many wild options that you might have a hard time choosing what to do. Disney resorts have food, activities and amenities that kids will love, while still offering great stuff for the grown-ups, such as fine dining and spa services.

Mohonk Mountain House New Paltz, NY. When you drive up the scenic mountain road to get to the resort, you will feel like you have stepped into the movie Dirty Dancing. Perched atop a glacier-made cliff, the Victorian Castle Resort is an historic hotel that makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. Most rooms have wood burning fireplaces and there is a lake, which offers swimming in summer, as well as a place to canoe. Most people go for the hiking, especially during peak foliage season. One of the highlights is the challenge of the rock scramble, a hike that is well worth the effort because of the view at the end.

An Alaskan cruise. If hot weather and beach destinations aren’t your thing, summertime is the best time to go on a trip to Alaska. While cruising through the frozen tundra of Glacier Bay, you can enjoy the majestic scenery, including icebergs. Princess Cruise Line has a family friendly cruise with pools, movies and dances for kids.
When you get to port, some of the activities you can do with your kids is to visit original Gold Rush towns or even go dog sledding! Amazing!
