A land of wonders both ancient and modern.

Thailand is known to some as the “land of smiles.” Originally, they gave themselves this name because it sounds really good in advertising and on post cards. After a while, though, the name stuck, not because of how fitting of an advertising moniker it is, but because people discovered that it’s a beautiful country full of smiling people.

One of the most interesting things about Thailand is the dichotomy in its settings. In this one country you can find pristine tropical beaches and fascinating ruins, as well as sprawling cities and modernized entertainment. Thailand knows that every tourist is looking for something different, so they do their best to provide a little bit of everything, and it totally works.

You can sail to those pristine beaches in either a modern speedboat or a rustic raft, soaking up that glorious sunshine all the way. There’s lots of friendly wildlife hanging around these areas as well. If you’re not careful, you might have your hat swiped by a mischievous monkey.

If culture is more your thing, Thailand’s numerous temples, ruins, and religious sites are a wonder to explore. In addition to beautiful architecture, Thailand is home to some of the largest, most intricately carved Buddha statues in the world that have to be seen up close to be believed.

If you miss the comforts of the modern world, just head over to Bangkok, a beautiful neon city packed with entertainment, nightclubs, and delicious food. For the best view of the city at night, you’ll definitely want to check out the Hangover skybar. Don’t worry, though, there’s plenty to check out during the day as well.

If you’re the indecisive type when it comes to vacations, go somewhere that’ll have what you want no matter what it is: go to Thailand.
