I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure the pinnacle of any Thanksgiving meal is the turkey. Sure you might be privy to the mashed potatoes, or the stuffing, but we all know the center piece, the crescendo if you will, is that hulking, crispy, cooked bird you’ve been waiting the whole year for. I’m sure you have heard a lot of people bragging that they make the best Thanksgiving turkey.
To be totally honest with you, I have a lot of fear for anyone who gets stuck with the responsibility of having to cook their turkey. What if it isn’t cooked all of the way through? What if you burn it? What if it didn’t defrost all of the way? What if a pack of the neighbor’s wild dogs run through your kitchen and destroy it? (Hopefully you noticed my ‘A Christmas Story’ reference there). Well, fingers crossed that none of that madness will happen, but what are some of the best ways to cook a turkey?
1. Grilling it on the barbecue.
2. Deep-frying your turkey, even though it’s kind of super dangerous.
3. Classic oven-roasting it.
4. Bacon wrapping your turkey, because why not?
5. Smoking the turkey on the barbecue.
6. Cook in a crockpot.
