Somehow, beyond all odds, the Backstreet Boys managed to pull a classic comeback. Before 2019, they were thought of as a late 90’s/ early 2000’s quintessential band that would stay in their appropriate time period. For many, they were only played as blast to the past during 90’s themes parties. And yes, any good 90’s kid appreciated the nostalgic nod to their childhood, but we didn’t think we would ever see our favorite boys hit it big again.
And yet, here we are 20 years later in 2019 and all of a sudden, they’re back! This year, Backstreet Boys came out with a new album, DNA, and it’s number 1! Songs like “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”, “Chances”, and “No Place” are played non stop on Pop radio and they are making it to final countdowns every week.
So, how did the Boys do it? They accredit their successful return to people’s love of that sweet nostalgic feeling. Their sound hasn’t changed, it has only been remastered. The Boys state that people love the old times but they also love to see growth, and this combination makes Backstreet Boys fans enjoy and celebrate their return.
