Beauty Brands That Give Back
Bella Breakdown
When shopping for things you use everyday, it can seem like you’re getting sucked into a consumerist hole. I often think about where my money is going, and what sort of impact my purchases are making on the economy and society. While it would be hard to make every purchase based on a good cause, there are several brands we can support that make an effort to give back to the community. So consider incorporating some of these brands and products into your routine next time you’re shopping!
Tatcha
With every purchase of a full-size product, Tacha funds a day of school in partnership with the Room To Read Girls’ Education Program. This organization provides educational services and materials to girls in Southeast Asia and Africa.
Thrive Causemetics
This brand was founded on Karissa Bodnar’s dream of providing false lashed to women with cancer. It has since, dare I say, thrived, and now she donates one product for every item purchased. The products go to women with cancer, homeless women or those recovering from domestic violence.
Lipstick Lobby
Lipstick is getting political! 100% of the net profits from the brand’s “Kiss My Pink” lipstick are donated to Planned Parenthood. Profits from the “In the Clear” lip balm are also donated to the UnPrison Project, which works to support women and girls in prison.
Make Beauty
The NYC-based brand donates 10% of all sales to the We See Beauty Foundation, which supports women-led and owned businesses.
