DIY Solid Perfume

Solid perfume is the perfect way to get that natural, subtle scent that’s customized just for you. All you need is beeswax, essential oils of your choice, and jojoba oil.

This couldn’t be easier, first you mix all of the essential oils together for the perfectly blended scent. Mix, match experiment until it’s just right. For example, lavender oil, vanilla essential oil and rose oil would be a beautifully balanced floral scent. Once you’ve got the scent you want, you’ll melt your beeswax and jojoba oil in a double boiler.

The beeswax will help the perfume solidify and the jojoba oil adds a moisturizing and protective component that allows it to slide on really smooth and stay on all day. Cut up the wax and put in a metal bowl over a pot of boiling water then add the jojoba oil and melt.

The steam melts the beeswax gently so it doesn’t burn. If it’s too soupy then add a little more wax. Add in your essential oil blend and mix around with a spatula. Now, just prepare your packaging, turn down the heat and either using a dropper or spoon, add to your tin or locket.
