If you find yourself as being one of the many people who have a hard time putting your phone away there is finally an app to curb that addiction. Milk the Moment not only makes you spend time away from your phone, but it also rewards you.
Thanks to professional “hype woman” Courtney “Coko” Eason, phone usage can finally see a decrease after a study found that the average American adult spent almost three hours on the phones a day.
The growing use of smartphones have become such a problem that musical artists have begun to request fans to keep their phones away. “It was getting more and more difficult to keep people on their feet, laughing and dancing, at each event and I just didn’t know what was going on,” Eason said. “I didn’t know if my events were getting more boring or if I was. I started to review the audience and videotapes and then I noticed that the culprit was the cellphone.”
Thus the creation of “Milk,” a rewards-generating app that gives you incentives for keeping your phone away from your eyes during dinners or concert events. How the app works is when you enter a gea-fenced area you can begin to receive cash, gift cards and more the longer you stay off of your phone. You can even steal rewards from your friends when you see them on their phones.
“It’s going to try to encourage all of you to come together and make a pact that you’re gonna refrain from using your phone during this experience,” says Eason.
