How To Get Over Your Hangover Through Your Diet

Bella Breakdown

When you become of legal age and begin drinking alcoholic beverages you learn very quickly that hangovers suck. To help you out the next time you decide to have a good night out try these foods and drinks to cure your hangover.

Bananas:
While drinking is a way to let loose and have a good time it can also block the production of a hormone that helps your body hold on to water. Which leads to dehydration and the loss of electrolytes like potassium and sodium. Luckily, bananas are especially rich in potassium and can help replenish your body’s stores. One medium banana contains 12% of the daily value for this nutrient.

Pickles:
Another way to restore that sodium you may have lost while drinking is to eat pickles. Eating pickles or drinking pickle juice may help boost your sodium levels and overcome your hangover. Just one dill pickle spear contains about 13% of the daily value for sodium. 2.5 ounces (75 ml) of pickle juice provides about 20% of the daily value.

Carrot ginger apple juice:
Food isn’t the only thing that’ll help you cure a hangover, but certain drinks will too. Like, carrot ginger apple juice. While drinking can lower your potassium and sodium levels it can also create free radicals, which increase your risk of disease.

However, the beta-carotene found in carrots helps remedy this. Ginger’s anti-inflammatory compounds will help alleviate nausea, and apples are a great source of vitamin C.
