Former couple Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux reunited recently to mourn the death of their dead dog, Dolly. The actor posted photos from Dolly’s funeral on Sunday featuring his ex-wife.

“Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle… our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield,” Theroux captioned the Instagram post. Though Theroux did not mention Aniston as being the woman seen in the photos, fans still assumed that the anonymous hands belonged to the former couple. “I’m sorry for your and Jennifer’s loss. She was a beautiful dog. Glad you could both be there for Dolly,” one fan wrote.

Aniston’s former Friends co-star Courteney Cox wrote a message for her friend and ex-husband that read, “we love you dolly.” Orlando Bloom, Olivia Munn, and Kate Walsh all sent well wishes to the couple.

Theroux made sure to use his platform to urge fans to adopt and not shop when it comes to choosing a pet. Aniston adopted Dolly as a pup in 2006, five years before she started dating Theroux. The exes were frequently photographed by paparazzi walking Dolly together in the years before their split.
