Lady Gaga might be known as the queen of pop but is using her celebrity status to bring awareness to her philanthropic efforts for the Born This Way Foundation to spread kindness. Gaga’s foundation plans on spreading more kindness with its new book entitled ‘Channel Kindness: Stories of Kindness and Community’ written by a collection of Born This Way Foundation reporters.
The book is a collection of stories authored by 39 authors from the Born This Way Foundation and some personal notes of empowerment from Lady Gaga herself. This book features stories of young changemakers that give back through acts of kindness to their local community and are involved with the Born This Way Foundation.
Lady Gaga’s mother, Cynthia Germanotta, is the co-founder of the Born This Way Foundation and Gaga says that this book helped create a stronger relationship with her mother. Gaga explained in an interview with People that she struggled with mental health issues when she was younger and it was difficult to communicate with her mother about these problems.

Gaga says that they’ve found ways to channel kindness into their lives that helped to heal their mother-daughter relationship while learning more about mental health. The new book contains 51 stories from young people around the world to impart the importance of empathy and compassion to make the world a better place.
Lady Gaga co-founded the Born this Way Foundation is 2012 with her mom with the mission of creating a braver and kinder world. The Born This Way Foundation provides action-oriented programs resources for youth and encourages change in the community.
‘Channel Kindness’ will be available in stores starting September 22 but is available for pre-sale on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, Audible, and more. Pre-orders will also receive a cute matching tote featuring the book cover after submitting a preorder receipt.
