Summer is here and Mother Nature is making sure we feel the heat. Sadly, not everyone lives in a place that has an air conditioner, so finding ways to stay cool can be hard. To make things easier, here are some tips for keeping cool without an air conditioner.

For those who tend to get hot when sleeping, it may be due to the sheets you have. During the summer months, it’s best to sleep on cotton sheets. Light-colored bed linens made of lightweight cotton are breathable and excellent for promoting ventilation and airflow in the bedroom.

If buying cotton sheets isn’t something you want to do, try putting your sheets in the freezer for a few minutes before bed. Granted, this won’t keep you cool all night, but it will provide a brief respite from heat and humidity.

If none of that seems like a logical option to you then try making your own air conditioner. Position a shallow pan or bowl (a roasting pan works nicely) full of ice in front of a fan. The breeze will pick up cold water from the ice’s surface as it melts, creating a cooling mist.
