Eva Mendes Gushes About Ryan Gosling In A Rare Interview

Eva Mendes gave a rare look into her and partner Ryan Gosling’s personal life in a recent interview with Women’s Health. The usually private actress revealed that she was once reluctant to have children, but that all changed once she met Gosling.

“Ryan Gosling happened. I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have…not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him,” she said. The couple met on the set of their 2011 film ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ and the romance led to the two have two children together, Esmerelda and Amanda.

The 45-year-old actress isn’t ashamed to admit that since the birth of their two daughters she doesn’t have the drive to continue her once booming career. “I felt a lack of ambition if I can be honest,” she said about her step back from her 20-year career. “I feel more ambitious in the home right now than I do in the workplace.”

Luckily, Mendes has nothing to worry about due to Gosling’s own career not slowing down any time soon. Especially after his Golden Globe award-winning performance in ‘La La Land.’ An achievement he made sure to thank the mother of his children for helping him accomplish.

“While I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer,” he said in his acceptance speech. A shoutout that meant a lot to Mendes.

“What I heard was that he said my brother’s name. It was the most beautiful gesture, and I had no idea Ryan was going to say it.” Just another way this Hollywood couple may go the distance.
