The ponytail rarely makes a fashionable debut, reserved instead for running errands or working out, check out this glamorous take on the classic ‘do.

This ponytail basically survives on texture, so start by loading dry hair with salt spray until it feels damp and basically scrunch it in to start activating that movement. Once your hair is totally damp it’s time to get the blow drier involved. Help that salt spray embrace more movement and start blasting and crunching it up.

Then, make a big deep side part with hands across the brow, keeping it loose and natural. Next, take random sections of hair and wrap them around a one-inch curling iron. Keep it very random and low since it all gets gathered anyway.

Then, get in and backcomb the crown for a little more volume. Now, that all the preparations are done rake your hands through your hair and gather it to the back of your neck, no brushes, this is a brushless ponytail.

Softly tease the ponytail by back combing it with a paddle brush for a cotton candy then mist it with some hairspray or dry shampoo to hold in the texture. For a professional finish wrap a piece of hair around the elastic and secure with it by crisscrossing some pins. Loosen some pieces around the face you’re red carpet ready.
