The Muppets are back starting this summer

Your favorite Jim Henson creations are making a comeback thanks to Disney. “Muppets Now” will be coming to the Disney+ streaming platform this summer after the long development period.

“Muppets Now” started development in August 2019 and is looking like a re-make of the iconic “Muppets Show” featuring various variety segments including musical numbers and more. This new Muppets production is the only Muppets project officially on the books for Disney.

Disney+ was also working on another project “Muppets Live Another Day” developing the project with Josh Gad, Eddy Kitsis, and Adam Horowitz with the predicted premiere for 2020. The project was terminated over creative differences between the writers and Muppet Studios.

The Muppets will also be appearing in Disney’s next Family-Sing-Along special for ABC featuring the famous puppet duo, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Disney also hinted that Kermit and Miss Piggy will be an integral part of the plot for “Muppets Now” and is expected to feature short 10-minute episodes for now.

You can have a fun time with your favorite puppets starting July 31 because everyone loves puppets!
