Disney fans around the world are awaiting the re-opening of the Disney amusement theme parks and Walt Disney World just reopened the Animal Kingdom park to a select number of guests. The Walt Disney World cast members will be operating the theme park with new security measures in place with temperature checkpoints, social distancing, and wearing required face masks.

The Walt Disney World parks closed during the initial shutdown in mid-March due to growing concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and Disney has used this time to ensure new safety protocols for cast members and guests. Disney World cast members will be getting an exclusive preview on Tuesday and Wednesday for the Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom.

Disney World will reopen the parks to annual pass holders starting Thursday and Friday with the new safety measures in place. Currently, Disney plans on reopening the Epcot and Hollywood Studios parks on July 15, working on adding new safety protocols for guests and cast members.

Disney Springs has already started phases of reopening since May with safety restrictions to keep the guests safe during their stay. Disney World has planned this reopening for several months but the recent spikes in COVID-19 cases in the surrounding areas of Florida could possibly force Disney to close again.

For now, you can enjoy Disney from the safety of home with the help of social media and streaming your favorites on Disney+.
