Bella Breakdown

I have let my hair grow out for just over two years now. Having an attachment to my hair is an understatement. There are a lot of people, both women and men, who are really attached to their long hair. That’s understandable, because to a lot of people hair growth is a commitment, especially if hair doesn’t grow that long.

With that being said, I know that there have been a number of times I’ve considered just chopping it all off. I worry that my attachment to my long hair is indicative of me not wanting to make change, or me not wanting to let go of something. I can’t be the only one who has felt this way too.

There’s a lot to be said about getting a drastic haircut. Whether it’s been long thought out and planned, or it’s a spur of the moment cut, either way you’re making a big change of appearance. I know for a lot of people a big appearance change can come after a break up, a move, a change of career etc.

Maybe our hair is more than hair, and it’s somehow a representation of us wanting a clean slate. Clean cut, clean slate. Either way, I think everyone should take a hair plunge at some point in their lives.
