We all know Goop as the go-to resource for all things health, beauty and lifestyle. Whether you’re looking for a luxury skin cream, a travel guide for your favorite city or a recipe for a super smoothie, Goop has got it all.
Some, including myself, have found the site a bit intimidating, appealing largely to the super wealthy and super fit. As much as I like to dream, I am not Gwyneth Paltrow. So I was pleasantly surprised to learn about Goop’s new collaborate with Universal Standard. Together, the two brands have created a capsule collection of five essential pieces that are designed to flatter every size, from 00 to 4XL.
While these items are a bit pricey, as one would expect from anything Goop related, they are meant to be wardrobe staples that will last you a lifetime. As investment pieces, these are definitely worth the extra bucks. Below are my two favorite pieces, and items that I think should be in every woman’s closet. Make these a holiday gift to yourself and you’ll thank me later.
I know that not everyone is on the jumpsuit bandwagon, but I am, and I think you should be too. A black jumpsuit is classic, versatile and really flattering when done right. And this jumpsuit is definitely done right. It’s a light, matte black material that is highly breathable and drapes beautifully. The sash at the waist is super flattering and adds the right about of definition.
Pair with pumps and a clutch for a night out, through on a blazer at the office, or rock booties and a jean jacket for a weekend date. This is a piece you will wear constantly.
Wool Tuxedo Jacket
Every woman, no matter what your job is, should have a well-fitted blazer or tuxedo jacket. Not only is it super classy and so versatile, but it can be a wardrobe savior when you unexpectedly need to make an appearance at a meeting, have a wardrobe malfunction, or need to dress up some chic pants. My favorite way to style a jacket like this is with some cigarette pants and heels. Whether you’re wearing jeans or silk trousers, this jacket is the perfect topper.
