Olympic Snowboarder Chloe Kim Is Simply Amazing

This Snowboarder Stole Our Hearts

Chloe Kim is amazing. She is a 17-year-old Olympic snowboarder and just won a gold medal for the halfpipe snowboarding competition in Pyeongchang, South Korea, earlier this week. But after winning a gold medal, she just wants to go back to being a normal teenager.

During an interview with ABC, Kim talked about all of the things she missed out on while working towards her Olympic dream: “I missed out on a few proms, homecomings, might miss my graduation,” she said, adding that she’d do it all over again if she could. “I wouldn’t want it any other way…it’s worth it.”

Kim’s family was there to support her, and they emigrated from South Korea to California in the 1980s. So not only did she have fans from the U.S. at the Olympics, but also fans from South Korea that have really embraced her as their own. To watch a girl so young have so much precision and so much dedication to something she loves is truly a wonderful thing to watch. We hope to see her in Olympics to come!
