People Magazine’s 2018 ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ has been decided, and all is right with the world. The 2018 Sexiest Man Alive is Idris Elba, and sorry but we can’t help but feel a little redeemed after last year’s choice of Blake Shelton. No offense to Blake, but Idris fits the role a little better.
Elba is a major star, having had played roles in ‘The Wire’, ‘Luther’, ‘Thor’, and ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’. His win was announced on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, where they attempted to create a pose based off of his description as a “sweet, smoldering superstar”. Smoldering is right, there are many women and men who would fall deep into the depths of those eyes. Or is that just me?
Elba says he was surprised by the win, but he’s happy about it and says it’s definitely an ego boost. Elba joins the ranks of dashing men such as Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds, and even co-star Chris Hemsworth. The title is well deserved for Mr. Elba, and we know his star power is going nowhere anytime soon. I know a lot of knees that buckle when his name is said. Or, again, is that just me?
