5 Yoga Poses To Get You Through Your Midday Slump

Life can be relentless, sometimes it seems like there just aren’t enough hours in the day… and sometimes it feels like there are just way too many. For those endless afternoons, take a breather and try a few of these restorative poses:

1. Seated Cat Cow – Inhale, bring chest forward and drop back head then exhale. Turn chest in and roll shoulders forward. Smile.

2. Seated Twist – Inhale and twist spine from side to side during exhale. Look in the direction of twist. Smile.

3. Mountain Pose Side Stretch – Bring hands up in prayer and keep feet planted on group. Bend from side to side. Smile.

4. L-Shape at Desk or Wall – Place hands on surface and fold body into 90 degree angle. Bend and straighten knees with breath. Smile.

5. Standing Forward Fold – Bend over and interlace hands behind back. Keep stomach on thighs and knees slightly bent. Relax neck, hang arms and gradually straighten legs. Slowly roll body up to standing. Smile.

Sometimes the answer doesn’t always come in a cup of coffee. So, the next time you’re feeling a midday lag try to yoga through it!
