Angelina Jolie Made a ‘Dame’ by Queen Elizabeth

She’s an A-lister, an Oscar winner, a mother to six and now she’s Dame Angelina Jolie. The Maleficent actress was among the list of Queen Elizabeth’s birthday honors.

Chosen because of her dedication to campaigning against sexual violence and the use of rape as a weapon of war, she was in London with her fiancé Brad Pitt this week leading a global summit on the issue.

She said, “to receive an honor related to foreign policy means a great deal to me, as it is what I wish to dedicate my working life to.” The only catch is that she cannot be addressed as Dame because she is a foreign citizen. Still, i’m sure that won’t be raining on any of her parades!
